About the Initiative

Welcome to the HealthCare on Wheels

Healthcare on Wheels, an innovative outreach program by Centurion University of Technology and Management, Andhra Pradesh, was inaugurated by Kondapalli Srinivas Rao Garu and is supported by Ashok Leyland as part of their CSR contribution. This initiative aims to bridge the gap in healthcare access for underserved rural communities in the Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, and Srikakulam districts.
Impact and Operations
Operating two days a week, the program has already served over 1,200 beneficiaries through 13 health camps in just two months. The mobile healthcare van is equipped with advanced diagnostic tools provided by Kishok Company, offering a range of services:
  • Lipid Profile Testing to monitor cholesterol levels.
  • Hemoglobin Tests for detecting anemia.
  • Blood Grouping for medical preparedness.
  • Blood Sugar and Uric Acid Monitoring for managing diabetes and gout risks.
  • SpO2 Measurement for oxygen saturation levels.
  • Free Eye Examinations for early detection of vision issues and the distribution of reading glasses.
  • Cataract Surgery Arrangements in collaboration with local hospitals.
  • Basic Health Check-ups including blood pressure monitoring and general health assessments.
Technology and Training
A custom mobile app, Healthcare on Wheels, supports the program by managing patient registration, diagnostic data, and follow-up care. This ensures efficiency in service delivery while generating raw data for academic research and healthcare advancements.

The initiative also serves as a training platform for healthcare students, enhancing their hands-on experience and skills in community-based healthcare.
